**Air Pollution Monitoring System**
The goal of this project is to collect information from a remote air pollution monitoring 
system into a data store in the cloud, allow a user to access a “visualization interface” to view 
the historical information, and generate alerts if a monitored value goes out of specifications 
(as defined by the user).
In this project, the team shall use a Raspberry PI as the main system. It shall interface with a 
Pi Weather Shield (Digi-Key Part Number 223-1788-ND), and an Air Quality Sensor (similar to 
the SEN-14193 from SparkFun).

The system shall collect measurements for temperature, air quality, barometric pressure, and 
humidity at a periodic rate (every 15 minutes). The information shall be stored in a cloud 
database. The team shall supply a UI that allows a user to see the historical values of those 
measurements.
The team shall incorporate functionality to monitor the incoming data for anomalies and alert 
the user both on the UI as well as via some form of an e-mail message. The UI shall allow the 
user to set and change the alert thresholds for the different measurements.
It is necessary to secure the messages and traffic between the device and the cloud to 
prevent any kind of intervention.
Since frequent reporting can result in increased usage cost of the cloud team solutions that 
also implement a method for changing the reporting interval of the remote device from the 
cloud will be eligible for bonus points. The idea here is to still allow the user to control it from 
the cloud, but the cloud would need to communicate a command down to the device that it 
would use to determine how frequently it should be sending updates.
This Solution must use IoT gateway from one of the three cloud service providers AWS, 
Azure, or GCP. Cloud providers would be decided by a lottery system

**Door Access Control using Face Recognition**
Facial recognition is one of the most trending security techniques in the world today. A 2-
factor facial recognition door lock system can be used to prevent a robbery at a building, and 
only allow access to those that should be allowed in. In this project, the team will use a 
Raspberry PI with a display, a camera, a digital keypad, a red LED, a green LED, and a white 
LED.

The red LED shall be used to indicate that the door is in a “locked” state. The green LED shall 
be used to indicate that the door is in an “unlocked” state. The white LED shall be used to 
provide feedback and indications at other times in the process flow.
The red LED should be on by default to indicate the door is in a “locked” state.
The display on the system should ask the user to enter their employee ID on the keypad. It 
should then prompt them to look at the camera and turn on the white LED to indicate that a 
picture is being captured. Once the picture has been captured then the system should turn 
the white LED off.
Once a picture is captured, the system should send that picture and the employee ID to a 
facial recognition system. The facial recognition system shall use the employee ID to retrieve 
a pre-stored image of the user. The facial recognition system shall compare the new picture 
of the user against the pre-stored image, determine if this is the correct individual, and send 
an appropriate response back.
If the system recognizes the user as legitimate the system shall turn the green LED on for 10 
seconds to indicate that the door is “unlocked”, then return the LEDs to the original state of 
“door locked”. If the system does not recognize the user then it should provide some 
appropriate failure message on the display and deny entry to the user.
The results of the recognition should be recorded in a cloud-based logging system. The team 
shall supply a UI that allows a user to see the visitor log.
Since this is a security-oriented solution what are the key parts of the system that should be 
secured/protected?
The original images that are being used for comparison should be stored in the cloud to start.
Bonus points will be awarded for solutions that can show a performance comparison 
between cloud based facial recognition and “on device” facial recognition.

repetitive code, and other enhancements that can make the code more effective and more accessible for other programmers to understand. Develop an AI system that can take existing code and perform several of these tasks as if it were a partner in a “pairs programming” model…i.e. another person that can review your code, provide suggestions, improvements, etc. The outcome should be a solution that is more efficient from a performance perspective, and provides valuable feedback and information that will improve the overall quality and structure of the code.

Build a utility that can take the transcript output from a Microsoft Teams meeting and create a valid set of meeting notes about the meeting.
